The Craft (1996)
It’s inspiring to revisit a brand and witness its growth. Fresh from the screens of Project Runway in the US, Candice Ccuoco landed in London to present her Spring-Summer 2016 offering.
True to the brand’s dark aesthetic, the collection was dominated by leather and sheer fabrics. The hues remained dark, interrupted only by a few angelic beiges.
Speaking of interruptions, the show stopper of Ccuoco’s collection was not a dress, but a kiss shared by two models. I am definitely in favour of kisses becoming all the more fashionable. It’s the best statement one can make.
Coming back to the fashion and beauty side of things, the hair and make up looked like it was dictated by the producers of The Craft. For those who aren’t sure what The Craft is, it is a brilliant 90s flick. Think of it as a very, very dark version of Clueless, definitely worth a watch. Brown lips, black kohl eye-liner and heavily gelled hair – witches and vampires are en vogue.
Having said that, I simply can’t wait to fast forward to the next season; this brand’s aesthetic is getting addictive. Candice Ccuoco keeps her audience under her dark spell. The magic’s working.
