“But pearls are for tears, the old legend says,” Gilbert had objected.
“I’m not afraid of that. And tears can be happy as well as sad. My very happiest moments have been when I had tears in my eyes — when Marilla told me I might stay at Green Gables — when Matthew gave me the first pretty dress I ever had — when I heard that you were going to recover from the fever. So give me pearls for our troth ring, Gilbert, and I’ll willingly accept the sorrow of life with its joy.”
L.M. Montgomery – Anne’s House of Dreams

Pearls are equal to elegance. However, recently they’ve gone through a bit of a rebrand and have come back looking pretty gothic and edgy. And that’s why pearls are awesome – fake or real they are true amplifiers of any given look. From Calvin Klein-like minimalism to Marie Antoinette’s jewellery box, pearls are/were/will be everywhere.

As captivating as the Mona Lisa is the Girl with the Pearl Earring. As classic as a diamond ring is a string of pearls. There is no match to the timelessness of pearls.

  1. That title! I love it 😀 It looks very cool, those pearls with that look. As you say, a bit gothic, but also very classy at the same time. It looke like a goo new take on pearls!

I have seen that painting live by the way, and it was indeed very beautiful. There is something about it that you can’t really understand to the fullest, but it’s there. Have you seen it live?

  2. So beautiful! Love all the pearls and the sunnies are awesome! Fabulous jewelry and the whole look! What a great bag too!

  3. Black total look uwielbiam, ale to jak zaprezentowałaś perły zdecydowanie bardziej tu przyciąga moją uwagę,choć te Twoje nieziemskie oczy,aż żal chować za okularami;-)
