This jumpsuit.

This jumpsuit looks fabulous, and it feels… like I am wearing nothing at all. In a good way. Let me explain.

Imagine you are on a sunny holiday somewhere truly stunning. Do you really want to be bound by skin rubbing straps, tight dresses, sweat-inducing fabrics or shorts that start to cut into your skin as your body swells up in the heat? Erm, I’m going to go ahead and say no.

This is why I was on the lookout for a jumpsuit that would feel light as a feather while preserving a vacay-boho aesthetic. Et, voila! Kaleidoscope had just the answer. This jumpsuit delivered right what I wanted: extreme comfort and an immediate bohemian look.

I embellished the outfit with an antique broach and turban, turning this flower child ensemble into something slightly more mysterious. Think Mata Hari rather than Janis Joplin.

Quick Holiday Packing Tips:

  • 👒I always say yay to wearing hats in the summer. In extreme heat, it serves as sun protection as well as a fashion statement. In fact, the focus is often on the former. Always take a hat with you on holiday, otherwise you may end up being forced to buy one of those awful sun hats or panamas from your holiday spot and wear it everyday. That, or wrap a T-shirt around your head. Both scenarios suck.
  • 👘Take something with long sleeves. Again, in blazing heat, you will find it to be a protective layer.
  • 👟👡Comfortable shoes will mean everything on holiday. When it’s hot, feet often swell up and sweat. Very glamorous. Blisters and other ouchies are probably the last thing you’d want to deal with. Having said that – do take statement heels with you, an evening outing with a handsome stranger or your girlfriends might be on the cards.
  • 💼👜Don’t overpack! Every time I travel with someone I see them packing so much stuff – even for a weekend getaway – while I am perfectly self-sufficient with my weekender bag. I suppose that’s a skill you learn as an economy flight traveller. Be realistic – do you really need ten tops and five kaftans? Wouldn’t you rather keep some space free in case you buy some beautiful keepsakes that you will cherish for years to come?
  • Be smart about your beauty bag. While a lot of us opt for mini toiletries, be aware that often these are much more expensive than the actual full size bottles. Pack your absolute beauty essentials (for example your face cream, serum and the mascara you actually can’t live without) and everything else can simply be bought as soon as you land. That’s right – normal sized bottles and often at cheaper prices.
