It’s very difficult to write this without diving into a long and loud serenade. This is Ahmed, the person whom I have already spent 10 years with. 10 years is 41.6 per cent of my entire life.
Throughout this entire time that we’ve been together Ahmed and I went through heaven and hell. We’ve seen it all. We’ve had people become our friends and drift away, come and go, and even – arrive and stay until now.
I wish I could articulate the amount of love and respect I feel for Ahmed but that would be impossible even if the ghost of Shakespeare decided to posses me.
Ahmed never gave up on me, even when I gave up on myself. Ahmed understands my sense of humour and knows the right advice to give. He knows how to bullshit me with sweet lies when I ask him to tell the truth and I am not ready to hear it. He then knows the exact moment I become ready to face the music.
Today is Ahmed’s birthday. All I can say is that I wish him everything that is the best, the finest, most precious in this world. I wish him health and wealth.
