In the wonderful countryside of Kent, this spectacular place is attributed to Anne Boleyn as her childhood home. Anne, the second wife of King Henry VIII, had a huge influence on the King, and is often referred to as the main reason of the birth of the Church of England. After all, Henry completely reworked catholicism just annul his previous marriage to Catherine of Aragon and to then marry Anne. She gave the King a daughter, who was to became Queen Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen. Henry parted with Anne by making her part with her head, accusing her of high treason. It seemed to be a popular offence in those days.
Tudor history aside, the grounds of Hever Castle were extended to have an Italian Garden, beautifully landscaped grounds and even an artificial lake.
Although this was supposed to be my switch off day and I was not wearing much makeup at all, this JD Williams maxi dress somehow made me look at one with these grande grounds. The purple pleated dress I am wearing in the images is wide and light, which is perfect for when the weather is hot. It’s definitely going into my suitcase next time I am travelling somewhere warm. With Autumn on our doorstep, could that day please come soon?
